Mango Mastani is more than just a drink, it's a dessert in a glass. Traditionally made with fresh mango pulp, milk, ice cream, and garnished with an assortment of nuts and dried fruits, this beverage is a celebration of mangoes in their most decadent form. A luscious and indulgent beverage originating from the vibrant city of Pune, India. The place is famous for world's best mango Alfonso, anything made with this variety is top notch in taste (loose translation for the word delicious in Hindi is 'mast'). The drink's name could have been coined from there and tagged with the legendary queen Mastani or could be another marketing tactics by the popular ice cream vendor Sujatha mastani for sales.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Mango Ripe sweet variety
  • 1 cup Milk or cream
  • 1 tbsp chopped nuts cashew nut, almond, pistachios etc
  • 2 scoops Vanilla ice cream

Garnish

  • Cherry fresh or candied

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Mango Puree : Peel and chop the ripe mangoes, removing the seeds. Blend the mango pieces in a blender until you get a smooth puree. If the mangoes are not sweet enough, you can add a little sugar to the puree and blend again.
  • Step 2: Mix with Milk : In a large mixing bowl, combine the mango puree with cold milk. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and consistent. You can adjust the quantity of milk to achieve your desired thickness.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Drink : Pour a little mango puree to the bottom. Some chopped mango pieces, chopped nuts Then the blended mango milk mixture into tall glasses, filling them about three-quarters full. Add a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each glass.
  • Step 4: Garnish : Garnish the Mango Mastani with chopped mango pieces, assorted nuts, tutti frutti or cherries, and saffron strands if using. The garnishes not only add to the visual appeal but also provide a delightful texture contrast.
