Pina colada (non alcoholic version) / Virgin Pina colada / Summer recipes

Pina colada is a sweet drink made with pineapple and coconut cream. Something you would never repent indulging in .

Does Pina colada remind you of lounging by the pool, a walk on the beach while the cool surf caresses your tired feet…I know! the lovely tropical feel right! Is there anybody out there who doesn’t love that!!

So how about some whale watching too!!

Everything just zeros down to basking in the ambiance of Californian shores. The trendy restaurants, bars and cafes here just celebrate with right kind of food and drink to suit the mood.
So here is the beautiful drink from Puerto Rico to alleviate your spirits and soothe your souls.

Many versions of pina colada exists but this is my favorite.

Ingredients: for 1 glass

Pineapple juice – 1/2 cup
Fresh coconut water-1/3 cup
Coconut cream- 2 tsp ( Coco Lopez)
Fresh cream/Vanilla ice cream- 3-4 tsp

Throw in some ice and blend everything together and serve it with a wedge of pineapple and maraschino cherry in a hurricane glass or tall glass.Enjoy!!

Note

Coco Lopez is canned coconut cream specially used  for coladas .It has a  mix of sugarcane juice and coconut cream.
I love loading my colada with pineapple chunks than store bought juice.
If you want to make it alcoholic add 1 part rum .

I love the striking contrasts of colors.  As I started photographing the background began telling a story and I just played along the lines of  imagination. So if u will allow, let me complete the picture with a full moon for you..:)

Hope to hear from lovely people out there.

Meena
